introductory text:
Bifurcation: a complex riddle and set of intentions that form resistance, commons and communities.
Through a Franco-Brazilian dialogue, the collective exhibition ‘Green Pathways’ (original French title 'Bifurcations végétales') is questioning the notion of agriculture based on studying the past and present.
Going backwards from linear visions of progress, the question of settling down and the ‘Neolithic revolution’ (agriculture and ceramics) has been redefined at an international level by archaeologists, anthropologists and historians. In opposition to the dominant capitalist and ecocidal model, this exhibition follows in the footsteps of the book written by David Graeber and David Wengrow 'The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity'.
What do these revisions teach us about our present and future connections to the soil and non-human living beings?
